PMB Didn’t Order Closure Of Aso Villa Chapel – Presidency

1 Min Read

The Presidency has denied reports that it has closed down the Aso Villa Chapel, Abuja, following President Muhammadu Buhari’s ascendancy to power.

The report was trending on social media that the President ordered the shutting of the chapel, which is close to his official residence.

However, Aso Rock officials have not only described the reports as mischievous but also shared photos from Sunday’s church service to back up their claim.

Although Vice President Yemi Osinbajo was not in attendance at the service, the Acting Chaplain, Pastor Joseph Sheyi Malomo, who conducted the service, told State House correspondents that ?nothing of such was afoot.

He explained that though there were some procedural issues last Sunday that needed to be sorted out, there was no order to close the chapel.

He appealed to Nigerians to ignore the rumours and focus rather on issues that would unite the country.

In his sermon titled “Securing the Glorious Destiny of out Posterity,” Malomo explained that Nigeria has a glorious and unique destiny.

The first bible reading was taken from 2 Samuel 3:1-3 while the second was taken from Job 1:1-5 and Psalm 139 from verse 14 and 15.
