Portland Timbers Nigerian striker Bright Dike has confirmed that he has received an invitation to the national team camp ahead of the 2013 Africa Nations Cup.
The USA-born striker who recently made an impressive debut for the Super Eagles against Venezuela in Miami revealed that he is ready to fight for a place in the team’s attack.
“I have received my invitation to report to camp,” Dike said.
” I’m grateful for this opportunity and I would be prepared to give my best for the success of the team,” the burly forward stated.
Dike who netted five goals in 12 matches for the Timbers who finished second bottom in Major League Soccer’s Western Conference is not scared of the competition for places in the team.
“I’m ready to battle for a place in the Eagles star-studded attack,” the 25-year-old Oklahoma-born attacker boasted.
Stephen Keshi is expected to announce the list of the foreign-based professionals tomorrow for AFCON training camp in Faro, Portugal.
