Dortmund Off To Flying Start Under New Coach

1 Min Read

Thomas Tuchel’s Bundesliga reign as coach of Borussia Dortmund got off to an emphatic start as his side thrashed a lacklustre Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0.

Marco Reus got things off and running with an early thunderbolt after being played in by Shinji Kagawa before further well-worked goals from Pierre Aubameyangand and a Henrikh Mkhitaryan brace completed the rout.

Shortly after the start of the second half, Reus turned provider; laying the ball off for Mkhitaryan to slot home his second after some good play out wide.

Kagawa really should have made it 5-0 with 67 minutes on the clock, but somehow conspired to fire wide after some great combo play with Aubameyang.

Dortmund continued to push for a fifth but were unable to add another to their tally before the end of the match but the result leaves Dortmund second in the Bundesliga table to big rivals Bayern Munich, who beat Hamburg 5-0 on Friday.
