Super Eagles defender Taiye Taiwo returned to his former French club Olympique Marseille over the weekend as he was part of the crowd that watched the Ligue 1 game between the one-time European champions and Lorient at the Velodrome stadium on Sunday.
He was also at the club’s training centre at Robert Louis-Dreyfus on Monday morning where he shared pleasantries with his former teammates and club officials.
Taiwo who currently plays for Ukrainian giants, Dynamo Kiev, dumped the French side to join Italian giants AC Milan two seasons ago, but failed to impress in the colours of the five-time European champions officials. He was subsequently shipped to play for English Premier League side Queen Park Rangers midway into his first season before his present sojourn in the Eastern Europe where he is playing alongside his compatriots Brown Ideye, Haruna Lukman and Ayila Yussuf albeit on
loan for Dynamo who recently crashed out of this year’s UEFA Champions League.
The Ukrainian league is currently on break and the ex-Lobi Stars defender who is desperate for a return to the senior national team ahead of their campaign in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations may be
looking for avenues to keep himself match-fit, hence his decision to return to the club where he played for about 6 years.
