Speculative trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange saw the All Share Index dip for the second day in a row, depreciating by -0.50% to close at 31,269.71 basis points as against 31,427.68 basis points from yesterday’s trading session. A total of 3,716 deals valued at ₦2.91bn took place, an increase of 13.92% and 102.65% respectively. The total number of shares traded increased by 91.54% as the Market Capitalization stood at ₦10.71 trillion at the close of trading for the day.
Market breadth closed in the red as NESTLE led 15 gainers against 27 losers led by NB.
The Banking Index and the Consumer Goods Index appreciated, while the remainder depreciated. The Insurance Index lost 0.38%, while the NSE30 Index depreciated by 0.45%. The Industrial Index depreciated by 0.47%, while ASEM remained flat.
The Top Gainers chart was led by NESTLE closing at ₦865 and gaining ₦14.99. FLOURMILL was next on the Top Gainers chart, adding ₦2.60 and closing at ₦29.50. 7UP, FO and UACN completed the charts adding ₦1, ₦0.98 and ₦0.75 respectively.
The Top Losers chart was led by NB, they shed -₦5.50 and closed at ₦126. They were closely followed by CONOIL who shed -₦3.59 to close at ₦33.28. CAP, DANGCEM and CCNN shed -₦1.89, -₦1 and -₦0.75 to close at ₦36.06, ₦184 and ₦8.75 respectively.
UBA, ACCESS, ZENITHBANK, GUARANTY and OANDO were the most active stocks to boost turnover on the floor today, with a combined value of ₦1.74bn.
