International superstar Sam Smith recently revealed that despite his recent 20kg weight loss and extreme diet overhaul, he will always face an uphill struggle while trying to maintain his weight.
The Lay Me Down singer cut back on carbs and eliminated dairy from his diet in his bid to slim down, but says that he’s still got a real penchant for junk food.
Speaking to Magic Radio’s Jo Parkerson, Sam revealed: ‘Food is the big thing for me. I’m moving around all the time, but I just love food. I still love it. It’s going to be a battle for the rest of my life. I mean it’s not like this horrible diet that kills me. When I want to eat something bad I do it, but I’ve just got to stay on top of it, which is tough. I just love fried chicken and cheese!’ he continued.
Sam has spoken openly about his lifelong issues with his weight and has said previously that his obsession with food is a daily struggle.
Speaking to The Guardian last summer, the Grammy award winner explained:
‘I think I prefer food to singing. It’s really bad, isn’t it? Food is my favourite thing in the world. I always say if I ate what I actually wanted to eat I’d be in one of those electronic scooters because I’d be too big. I’m always going to have issues with my weight.
