Reigning Nigeria Premier League Champions, Kano Pillars Football Club are N94.8 million richer courtesy of Kano State government.
The Media Officer of the club, Malam Idris Malikawa said that the money has been approved and released as take off grant to enable the club prepare and prosecute the 2012/2013 season.
He said the General Manager of the club, Alhaji Abba Galadima has confirmed receipt of the money and has promised that the management of the club would judiciously utilize the money.
Malikawa also said Galadima thanked Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso for his unflinching support to the team and promised that Pillars would not disappoint its teeming supporters.
He said the money which has come in at the right time would be expended on the welfare of the players and preparations for the coming season.
“Kano State government has graciously released the sum of N94.8m to Kano Pillars FC as take off grant for the 2012/2013 season.
“Our General Manager, Alhaji Abba Galadima has said the State Executive Council has directed that the money be used in our
preparations for the forthcoming NPL season and the CAF Champions League.
“Already the money is in the club’s account. The GM is therefore commending Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for his unflinching support to the team”, said Malikawa.
