Nigerian super prodigy, Kelechi Iheanacho is hoping another eye-catching display against Real Madrid on Friday will earn him a regular berth at Manchester City next season.
The 18-year-old striker was an influential performer in City’s 5-4 penalty shoot-out win against Roma as Manuel Pellegrini’s stars continued their pre-season warm up.
And he wants to stay at the Etihad Stadium next season and learn from £49million Raheem Sterling and Argentinian attacker Sergio Aguero.
Iheanacho set up Sterling for his rapid-fire debut goal against the Italians in the International Champions Cup and then scored himself to leave Pellegrini impressed.
And the youngster is now hoping for a chance to shine against Rafa Benitez – to prevent him being sent out on loan.
