Nigerian superstar, Mikel Obi’s days in Chelsea FC may be numbered as there are unconfirmed reports linking him to an Abu Dhabi club, Al Ain FC.
The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea who have a packed midfield that includes Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic, who are first-choices of manager Jose Mourinho as well as Willian, Ramires and Juan Guillermo Cuadrado.
The English champions appear very ready to cash in on the Nigerian and have lined up reinforcement in Paul Pogba or Axel Witsel, whose future at Russian outfit, Zenit St. Petersburg has been tossed back and forth.
Chelsea are also interested in signing Ghanaian defender, Baba Rahman, from Bundesliga side, Augsburg.
However, Mikel is also attracting interest from Turkish side, Fenerbahce.
So far there has been no word from the camp of the Nigerian player, as it is not the first time he has been linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge.
Mikel has been with Chelsea for nine years since joining from Norwegian club, FC Lyn-Oslo, amid controversial circumstance.
The Nigerian international midfielder has won nine titles since arriving Stamford Bridge in 2006. He has a Champions League title, two Barclays Premier League titles as well as two League Cups and four FA Cups.
