Bayelsa Youths Urge Moses Siasia to Run for Governor

The Young Bayelsa Professionals (YBP), a youth forum has called on the Mr. Moses Siloko Siasia the founder of Nigerian Young Professionals Forum NYPF to run for the gubernatorial election of Bayelsa state in November.

In a statement signed by Dr. Castro Mathew, the YBP stakeholders within and outside the state to urged Siasia to consider running for the exalted office of the governor of our state.

The statement read “As young entrepreneurs and CEOs operating in Bayelsa state, we are concerned about the continuous stagnation and retrogression of our State. The poor living condition of Bayelsans and lack of basic social amenities worry us a great deal.

“We are worried that despite the huge sum of internally Generated Revenue, figures released show that the Bayelsa State Government from 1999 to date have received well over a trillion naira from the federation account and yet there are nothing on ground to justify the receipt of such funds. We believe that Moses Siasia who is just 35years old, haven managed several companies successfully will do a great job as governor.”

The forum explained that it is time for young leaders to take the reins of leadership because Beyelsa must look to new options and the youths are the best option.

“We believe that Bayelsans deserve better than what they have gotten from past leaders and therefore must seek to vote out the old, in order to begin the journey towards greatness and prosperity with the youth in charge,” the statement read.

The forum also added that Siasia has been at the forefront of the fight for the emancipation of the Nigerian youth, especially those in the Niger Delta even from his days as a student and he has also shown a keen interest in ameliorating the sufferings and plights of the less privileged.

YBP described Siasia as the new face of leadership in Bayelsa state if the people of Bayelsa want total liberation from the claws of bad leadership so as to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
