Okagbare Wins Silver At Jamaica Meet

The current fastest woman in Africa, Blessing Okagbare has expressed happiness after winning a silver medal at the 2015 Jamaica International Invitational Meet.

The Commonwealth 2014 double gold medallist who won a gold medal in the Women’s 4x200m and placing seventh in the 4x100m at the IAAF World Relays in Bahamas last week, came second at the JIIM with a time of 11.05secs behind Elaine Thompson of Jamaica, who finished at 10.97secs on Saturday

Allyson Felix of the USA arrived at 11.09secs to clinch the event’s bronze.

The African 100m champion took to Facebook to express her excitement at adding the medal to her hauls.

She wrote, “Such an amazing feeling when your name is been called and the crowd is cheering for you.

“Jamaica is one of the best country with such an amazing fans/supporters who understand and love sports.
