The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has unveiled Stephen Keshi as the coach of the Super Eagles at the National Stadium in Abuja. After a prolonged negotiation, Keshi finally signed a two-year contract on Tuesday in Abuja.
Keshi’s contract ran out after the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup, where Nigeria crashed in the second round of the tournament.
The coach was engaged on a game-by-game basis while contract talks stalled. He was sacked when it became clear that the Eagles were destined to fail in the quest to qualify for the 2015 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The sack was, however, reversed and this was attributed to some kind of pressure from government quarters.
Keshi’s new contract will last till 2017 and he will be assisted by Salisu Yusuf, a former coach of Kano Pillars.
