Wesley Sneijder scored two minutes into injury time to salvage a point for the Netherlands against Turkey in Amsterdam.
The Netherlands dominated the match in terms of territory and possession, but Turkey had their fair share of chances. In the early stages the home side went close with efforts from Memphis Depay and Sneijder, but Bruno Martins Indi soon had to clear an effort off the line.
Turkey took the lead towards the end of the first half when Burak Yilmaz seized on a cross that was not properly cleared to fire a shot off Martins Indi, and past Jasper Cillessen in goal.
In the second half, the Netherlands continued to dominate with the ball, but struggled to create chances consistently. Sneijder and Ibrahim Afellay both went very close with an effort each, but Sneijder’s free kick was just wide of the post, and Afellay’s volley was smartly saved.
Two minutes into added time Sneijder rescued Holland when his fierce shot deflected off Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and past the diving Volkan Babacan.
