Former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa has said that Bakassi People will vote en-masse for President Goodluck Jonathan.
Ita-Giwa during an interaction with journalists in Calabar said “Now that over 80 per cent of Bakassi residents have got their permanent voters’ cards (PVCs), they should go all out on Saturday to ensure that they vote for President Jonathan’s re-election. Cross River is known to be a core PDP state and I am convinced that they will deliver the state en masse for President Jonathan. We will go to Dayspring Islands and other riverine communities
“We are not envisaging security challenges. I appeal to Cross Riverians to maintain the peace as they have always displayed, especially during the carnival. Nobody should allow Cross River to be tagged as not peaceful because of election.
“We are not known for violence, so the peaceful disposition should be maintained. We have been holding successful carnivals in the state that is violent-free. Elections will come and go; we need our beautiful state to remain intact. No politician is worth shedding blood for.”
