Former Super Eagles handler Christian Chukwu, has advised Coach Stephen Keshi to quit Eagles now to avoid further humiliation from the board.
“For integrity sake, it is better for Stephen Keshi to quit the national team job following the crisis he has faced and the way and manner his contract case has been handled.
“It is clear that he is not needed and in such situation, it is better for him to quit in a more respectful way rather than face disgrace.
“Right from the time he failed to qualify our boys for the 2015 AFCON, he knows that his days as coach of the Eagles were numbered. In fact he played into NFF hands. If he had resigned after his victory in 2013 AFCON, he would have his name written in gold in the annals of Nigerian football.
“There are many capable hands that has what it takes to do the job and whoever the NFF decides to give the job will surely have our support,” he said.
The erstwhile Rangers of Enugu manager advised the leadership of the board to shun sentiment in choosing a replacement for Keshi, noting that only the best should be given the job.
