Nigeria U23 national team, the Dream Team, on Saturday defeated Gabon 4-1 in both sides’ first leg qualifier for the 2015 All Africa Games which will held in Congo Brazaville in July.
The media officer of the Nigerian side, Timi Ebikagboro in a release to the press briefly spoke about the outcome of the game in Libreville.
“We dominated the game from start to finish,” Ebikagbaro stated.
Ajayi Junior grabbed a brace in the second and 46th minute, while Oghenekaro Etebo Oghenekaro was also on target two minutes earlier through a penalty.
Enyimba forward Peter Onyekachi made victory certain in the 88th minute.
The hosts, who are the reigning African U23 champions, had pulled a goal back in the 43rd minute.
Samson Siasia’s team are now in pole position to qualify for the football event of the Games as the return leg match against the Gabonese side will be played in Nigeria in a fortnight.
