The police from Asokoro Division have arrested five suspected robbers for breaking into an office, force the safe open and carted away a total sum of N4, 789, 647.
The Assistant Superintendent Officer (ASP) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Peter Okechukwu, disclosed that the suspects: Ahmadu Haruna, Michina Torhide Solomon, Aramoseye Kolawole, Odoh Chukwu Emeka and Okeke Emeka Tochukwu, were involved in burgling a company in Asokoro.
“These suspects burgled a company and carted away the sum of N4, 789, 647, 00 from a safe.”
Okechukwu disclosed that among these five suspects both Ahmad Haruna and Michina Torhide Solomon are security personnel’s attached to the company.
Narrating their involvements, they all committed the crime through the written statement.
Okechukwu said exhibits recovered from them included iron rod, pliers, and padlock, torch light, and cash safe.
The ASP advised when recruiting security men in a company, the employers should delve deep into the security personnel before engaging the person to work with.
“Is so sad to note that these security personnel’s abetted, aiding and conspire with others to rob off the company without thinking twice. That is why many companies today engaged their securities personnel’s with fixed and reliable security firm who contract them out to other companies for employment.”
In another development, while acting on a petition, the anti-car theft Operatives arrested five suspects: Ocheoga Adai, Nathan Hope, Isa Garba, Afam Ezechi and Chibuzor Adubusin at Gwagwalada, Gwarimpa, Apo and Garki, respectively, for conspiracy, aiding and abetting the fabrication of 2000 master keys and car theft.
The following exhibits were recovered: one Toyota Highlander, four key cutting machines, some stolen law books, key monitor, fabricated keys.
The suspects have since been arraigned in court and remanded in Keffi Prison.
