The Director, Media and Publicity of Abubakar Bukola Saraki Constituency office, Alh Abdullahi Oganija has said that majority of politicians in the state are political progeny of the Saraki family.
Saraki, who represents Kwara Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, is a two-term Governor of Kwara state.
Speaking in a Democracy Day interview with newsmen in the state capital Ilorin, Oganija added that many of so called opposition politicians in the state were members of the Saraki political family who broke away as they could not fulfill their ambitions there.
He said, “The question is who are the opposition? The so-called opposition were once friends. We had eaten in the same pot. In case you don’t know, 90 percent of politicians in Kwara State are Sarakites. But when some cannot achieve their aim within the group, they fall out. Some, when they have been serving for years, and they asked them to stay for two or three months, they felt they had to continue in the same manner. So, in that regard, there is nothing we can do to them. And we didn’t see them as the opposition we can call them “aggrieved politicians or party members.”
