More than 8,000 Delegates are expected to choose All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate at the party’s national convention holding in Lagos on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the Party Spokesman, Alhaji Lai Mohammed who addressed journalists at a Pre-Convention Press Conference in Lagos, neutrality, accommodation availability and security concerns necessitated the change in venue and the party deliberately decided not to choose the state of any of the aspirants.
Mohammed said that in line with the party’s call for change, the party will ensure that “the process of effecting that change will commence with the effective mobilisation of Nigerians to demand the change in the 2015 general elections.”
Mohammed also said that secret system of balloting will be used to choose the presidential candidate of the party.
The Presidential Aspirants of the Party include Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), Sam Nda-Isaiah and Governor Rochas Okorocha.
