7 terrorist suspects arrested at bomb factories by JTF in Kano

1 Min Read

The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Kano arrested seven suspected Boko Haram members at bomb factories at separate locations in Farawa and Seika areas in Kano.

It also rescued four women who were believed to be wives of the sect members.

The spokesman of the JTF, Captain Ikedichi Iwehia, who disclosed this to pressmen on Wednesday, said six assorted wires for priming suicide vehicles, 32 Motorola handsets, one AK-47rifle, 52 Motorola handset batteries and 46 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were also uncovered at the bomb factories.

The four-hour operation did not record any casualty, as there was no resistance by the Boko Haram members during the said operation.

The bomb factories were later demolished, with heavy security operatives on ground to monitor the demolition.

Captain Iwehia assured members of the public of safety of life and property, saying the security should be a collective responsibility of everybody.

He, however, commended people in the state for their collective efforts through useful information being given to the security operatives.
