Seven ships laden with various commodities, including petrol, have arrived Lagos ports, waiting to berth, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Wednesday.

The NPA disclosed this in its daily “Shipping Position,’’ made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

It noted that three of the ships contained petrol.

NPA said that four other ships would berth with bulk fertiliser.

It said that 31 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports between July 12 and July 22.

“The expected ships are carrying buck wheat, containers, general cargoes, lubrication oil, bulk fertiliser, bulk corn, bulk gas, bulk sugar, containers, crude palm olein and petrol,’’ it said.

NPA also said that 23 other ships were currently at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, diesel, bulk fertiliser, Brazilian cane, bulk charcoal, bulk corn, bulk gas, crude palm olein, petrol and containers. (NAN)
