Seven people have been reportedly killed in twin bomb attacks by the Boko Haram terrorist sect on the town of Kolofata, in northern Cameroon on Sunday.
Cameroon’s Communications Minister, Issa Tchiroma Bakary, who spoke with Reuters news ageny, revealed this.
In the first explosion which hit near a wall in the town, three people were said to have lost their lives while another four were said to have been killed by a second bomb that detonated near a church.
Kolofata lies close to the border with northeast Nigeria and has repeatedly been the target of attacks by Boko Haram, which has carried out raids, kidnappings and, more recently, suicide attacks.
On September 3, the nearby town of Kerawa was hit by two suicide attacks that killed at least 20 people.
Northern Cameroon is gradually becoming a major target for Boko Haram terrorists who are facing a major offensive from the Nigerian military which is geared towards breaking their hold on the north eastern part of Nigeria.
