BBNaija housemate, LAYCON has emerged winner of Big Brother Naija Season 5.
After 71 days (10 weeks), 20 housemates, dozens of tasks, several altercations, and parties, the last man standing is the Fierce Rapper, LAYCON of Lagos.
This is a new day for the artiste and he will be forging a new path for himself. Here are 7 amazing facts about the Big Brother Naija Lockdown Edition winner you didn’t know about.
1. Signed To A Record Label
Laycon introduced himself as an artiste on his first day at the house. However, initially many people thought that he was an independent artiste and would hope that his stint on the house will get him a record deal.
The rapper in fact ALREADY has a record deal. Yes, the time on the show might get him a better record deal but right now, he is actually signed to Fierce Nation.
2. Wishes His Late Dad Happy Father’s Day Every Year
The rhymer has unfortunately lost his dad when the rapper was in his early twenties, but that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t still take the time to celebrate his father every father’s day.
Even this year, before going into the house, he didn’t miss it.
Happy Father’s Day to you Pop.
RIP 🙏🏾❤️

3. Had A Complicated Relationship With His Father
Discussing his dad, you know would know that Laycon unfortunately lost his dad. What might be missing from the public’s knowledge is that they weren’t really close when his father was alive, something that Laycon still regrets. Here are just a few tweets from the Twitter thread:
I knew you’d left, there it is. We weren’t close, not really, but I miss you every day, I miss your smile, your jokes, the fact that you try to understand me but I was the one that kept my distance. And I miss your voice, I miss your stories, I miss your laughter.

I miss having someone to call my Dad and my Dad alone. No one calls me son anymore. No one calls me Lekan the way you do
See I remember that day, I watched them clean you, dress you, like strangers were in your room and you didn’t even move an inch.

4. Laycon Didn’t Graduate Best Student Of The UNILAG 2016 Set
Throughout the show, Laycon was deemed the “philosopher” of the house. In a bid to continue this narrative, many people and reports came out to say that Laycon graduated as the best graduating student from UNILAG in 2016.
A Twitter account by the name “Big Brother Radio” however, came to refute those speculations with hard proof from the actual graduating document from that year and Laycon was not the best graduating student.
5. He’s Featured Major Mainstream Artistes
Laycon came into the house as an Underdog with no one knowing who really is. When he introduced himself as an artiste who makes music, people didn’t really bat an eyelid. Little did they know the rapper has achieved a feat by collaborating with mainstream artistes, some of which include Chinko Ekun and Reminisce.

6. Fell Off A Roof Shooting A Music Video
During a promotional shoot for his music video for his song titled “I Lied”, Laycon disclosed that he fell off the roof while shooting the music video.
