The Chairman of Giwa Football Club has been elected the new President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).
Chris Giwa won 27 votes, 25 more than his nearest opponent former Vice President Mike Umeh in an election where 29 members out of 44 were involved in the voting exercise.
The elections were held after NFF chieftains Alhaji Maigari and two others were arrested by the Department of State Security Services (DSS) and detained.
The elected officials were sworn in; this was done by Frank Ike Chude.
Former board member Obinna Ogba has been confirmed as vice president and former security committee chairman, Effiong Johnson is the new Chairman of Chairmen.
