Sani Awwalu, Ibrahim Sulaiman, Salahudeen Lawal, Shamsu Shaaibu, Yusuf Rabiu, Abubakar Khalid and one Auta are being arraigned in Katsina on charges of kidnapping and rape.
Only Awwalu showed up for the case on Tuesday as the other 5 are on the run from justice.
All 6 of them live in the Tundum Wada area in Funtua.
The crime was reported on January 12’th 2018 by Mallam Yusuf Umar, the victim’s father. The rape was alleged to have happened inside Awwalu’s room.
They deceived the girl into coming into the room where the suspects had ‘sexual intercourse’ with her many times.
This is a contravention of sections 273 and 283 of the Penal Code.
Sani Ado the Police Prosecutor. stated that the investigation was still ongoing and asked for an adjournment which was granted.
Hajiya Fadile Dikko the judge moved the case to April 4th but Awwalu was to remain in police custody.
