Six policemen on duty at the Odoro Ikpe Police Station in Ini Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State are feared dead when unknown gunmen attacked the station Saturday morning.
It was learnt that others on duty were injured in the attack.
Confirming the attack, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, SP Odiko S. Ogbeche said that details were still sketchy.
However, the police image-maker said that the police commissioner had visited the scene of the incident for first-hand assessment of the situation.
