You have been going out for a while, finally ended up getting married and are now trying to start a family. Chances are that you might get pregnant almost immediately and bring in your bundle of joy home in a few months. Sometimes, you do not get pregnant almost immediately and will have to keep trying and wait. Instead of stressing yourself out by waiting and constantly trying, you can do a few things that would increase your chances of getting pregnant. Beginning from changes to your diet, lifestyle, natural treatments to sex patterns, there are a lot of things that you can do to increase your chances of getting pregnant. Here are some ways to increase your chances of getting pregnant.
1. Do not wait for too long to start a family
A woman’s chances of getting pregnant and her fertility rate decreases as she gets older. Having a career and some money in the bank before you have a baby may sound very tempting but you also have to worry about your biological clock ticking away. Try to have a plan to support yourself and your baby and do not put off having a baby or getting pregnant for want of money or security.
2. Have a pregnancy-friendly diet
There are a lot of fruits and vegetables such as kale, pumpkin, tomatoes, greens, pomegranates, apples, oranges and kiwi that can be extremely beneficial to your health and also help you get pregnant. When you are trying to get pregnant, stay away from foods that can be harmful to your body and stress you out such as extremely fatty and oily foods.
3. Avoid stress
Do not stress a lot about getting pregnant. Give your body and mind time to adjust and relax as much as possible. Stress is a major factor that can cause abortions or just not let you get pregnant. Do not fall victim to family or societal pressure to have a baby immediately. This will just cause you and your partner a lot of undue stress. Try yoga, meditation and other relaxation techniques to de-stress and then try to get pregnant.
4. Change your lifestyle
If you are trying to get pregnant, you will have to make a lot of change in your lifestyle. If you are a heavy smoker or a drinker, you will have to stop it completely as smoking and drinking can reduce your chances and also harm the fetus in the later stages of pregnancy.
5. Have lots of sex
It is the most obvious thing that you will have to do. Instead of putting aside certain dates where you will be ovulating and having sex only on those days, try having sex everyday or whenever you two get the time. It does not have to be elaborate. Even a quickie here and there should enough to help you get pregnant.
If none of these work, you can always opt to get medical treatments to help you get pregnant faster and easier.
