Nigeria’s male basketball team coach, William Voigt, has expressed happiness at the drafting of five Nigerian players into the National Basketball Association (NBA) Draft 60.
The five Nigerians are Ike Anigbogu, Ogugua Anunoby, Bam Adebayo, Wesley Iwundu, and Jesusemilore Ojeleye.
According to the D’Tigers coach, the future of basketball in the country is bright.
“The future is bright,” William Voigt tweeted.
This is the first time such would happen in the history of the NBA.
It was gathered that the development followed the release of the 2017 annual NBA drafting list of 60.
The NBA draft is a yearly event where the thirty teams from top division can draft college basketball players who are eligible and wish to join the league. The draft has been on since 1947.
What to Know About the Five Nigerian:
- Ogugua Anunoby:
He was selected by Toronto Raptors led by a former Nigeria international, Masai Ujiri and
- Jesusemilore Ojeleye:
The man plays for Celtics and is the 37th player to be picked from the team
- Ike Anigbogu was given the nod by Indiana Pacers at number 47.
- Bam Adebayo got chosen at number 12 by the Miami Heat.
- Wesley Iwundu completes the list. The man will, picked at number 33, will be in the Orlando Magic team.
