A pregnant 12-year-old girl has caused confusion at an health facility after her 40-year-old husband brought her in for routine pregnancy test.
According to the man who brought her in and his company, a woman who identified herself as the mother-in-law, the girl’s age was put at 20 but nurses soon found out that the three-months pregnant girl was no older than 12.
After medics found out the real age of the pregnant girl, local authorities were contacted and an arrest was made.
Attempts to question the pregnant young girl by doctors at the Xuzhou City Central Hospital, in East China’s Jiangsu Province proved abortive as the pregnant young girl did not speak Mandarin.
A staff of the health facility said: “It’s obvious she is just a child, and certainly not anywhere near 20 years old.”
The suspicion was however reported to have angered the 40-year-old husband who was reported to have kept on shouting: “I took her here to be examined, just do your job. Stop asking so many questions,” before he was arrested by local authorities.
The girl however was found to be a foreigner as she did not posses a Chinese ID.
Investigators believe she must be a national from Southeast Asia.
