A 40-year-old man has been arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for having unlawful carnal knowledge of a 10-month old girl inside a church.
The accused, Kingsley Ndubisi, was arrested on 14 March, 2013 following a complaint by the parents of the victim.
It was gathered that Ndubisi defiled the 10-month old girl by fingering her private part which made her bleed.
The incident occurred at the True Tabernacle Church, Majek Farms, Abijo, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
The defendant has been charged with 1-count of felony to wit and defilement of a minor.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime.
After investigation by a police team led by Corporal Raymond Udoeka at the division, the accused was charged to court for the offence which is punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and magistrate Mrs. A.F. Adeeyo admitted him on bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum who must have proof of tax payment to the Lagos State government.
She adjourned the matter till 5 April, 2013 for mention.
The defendant has been remanded at Ikoyi Prison pending when he would fulfill the bail condition.
