A 4 year-old pupil, David Jacob, has been killed in a Nursery and Primary school located in Kado/Life Camp area of the Federal Capital Territory after the walls of his school collapsed on him.
According to the Vanguard Newspaper, the deceased was said to be having his meal in the company of his classmates when the walls of their classroom crashed on them.
The said collapsed classroom is reported to be made of mud.
Vanguard also reports that the school was among the 500 private schools initially closed down by the FCT administration but most of which their proprietors chose to break the law and re-open for operation.
An official in the FCT administration, Ayuba Didam, said:
“The owners of the school are Mr. and Mrs. Ogbonna Uba. They have been arrested and presently in police custody. Prosecution will eventually ensue.”
Other pupils who sustained various degrees of injuries are reported to be receiving treatment at the Gwarimpa General Hospital while the corpse of late David has been buried.
