Four young men have died in their sleep in a hostel near the Delta State University community of Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Herald learnt that in the Thursday morning incident, seven boys slept in a room in Sunset Hostel, Ogboru street, Ajanomi Area, and six became unconscious.
The seventh person was said to have raised the alarm which attracted neighbours and the victims were rushed to the hospital.
Vanguard quoted an unnamed source at the Abraka Police Station as disclosing that four of the boys were confirmed dead at the General Hospital, Abraka, where they were rushed to, and two others still unconscious were subsequently referred to the Eku Baptist Specialist Hospital for treatment.

The sources of livelihood of the seven boys are unknown raising fears that they were into internet fraud aka ‘Yahoo-Yahoo’.
There are also fears that the boys might have been attacked with a dangerous chemical while they were all sleeping.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Delta State Command, Onome Onowakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
She said, “The DPO has called me. He said at about 2:30 am this morning, a vigilante member called them that an offensive odour was coming out of a room. So, they went there. When they got there, they found out that one room, a single room, was being occupied by seven occupants and four people were already dead while one was unconscious.”
