Raheem Yusuf, 21, Adedoyin Adeyemi Abraham, 24, Olanrewaju Idowu, 36, and Safraini Oluyemi Peters, 24, four students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) ave been arraigned by Police.
The four students are said to allegedly belong to the Buccaneers cult and were arrested by the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, of the Lagos State Police Command.
The boys were said to have on August 4, around 9:30am in Biobaku hall in UNILAG conspired to commit an offense that would amount to causing of a disruption to public peace.
Yusuf, Abraham, Idowu, and Peters were docked yesterday before Chief Magistrate Oluwayemisi Adelaja on Charge No: D/45/2016.
The boys have been charged to belonging to a cult and conspiring to disturb public peace.
The alleged cultists pled not guilty to the charges. Chief Magistrate Adelaja granted the defendants N200, 000 bail with two sureties each in the like sum.
The sureties must show evidence of three years’ tax payment to the Lagos State government, affidavit of livelihood and be residents of the state.
The case has been postponed till the 26th of September for trial, but till that time, the students have been remanded to custody.
