He stated that the country is only experiencing temporary recession.

“The aim of this meeting is to strengthen our unity and to discuss ways to move forward, how to make our party stronger in the interest of our party and for our party to continue to win elections.

“We have seen the developmental strides of Gov. Tanko Al-Makura.

“It is left for all of us to continue to educate our members and other people on APC-led governments’ policies and programmes aimed at improving on the lives of Nigerians.

“Policies and decisions being undertaken by the APC-led administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will soon end the economic recession that has brought untold hardship to the people.

“It is in view of this that I want to appeal to our people and Nigerians to be more patient, supportive and prayerful as President Buhari strives to fix the economy so as to better the standard of living of the people,” he said.

According to him, “Sustained prayers by the adherents of the two major religions in the country will definitely assist the president, other elected and appointed leaders to overcome both the economic and security challenges hindering the growth and speedy development of the country.

He said that Gov.Al-Makura deserved commendation for taking the state to a greater height, especially in the area of infrastructural development despite the recession.

The council boss used the medium to advise the people of the area and Nigerians to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and to live in peace and tolerate one another irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliation for the overall development of the country

Also speaking during the meeting, Mr. Monday Nanza, Paul Abuga, the former Sole Administrator of the area and Personal Assistant to Gov. Tanko Al-Makura urged APC members in the area to work as a team considering the importance of unity to the development of the party and the society at large.

The duo drummed support for President Buhari and Gov. Al-Makura administration to enable them succeed in the task ahead of them, adding that no government has succeeded without the support of its citizens.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the stakeholders who spoke during the meeting passed a vote of confidence on the APC-led federal and state government and canvassed support for the party to succeed. (NAN)
