$242m: House Of Reps Set To Probe Sale Of NITEL,MTEL

The House of Representatives has vowed to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the liquidation and takeover of the national telecoms company NITEL and its subsidiary, MTEL.

Recall that the company had been taken over by a consortium called NATCOM for $242.3 million in August 2015.

The lawmakers, who complained of under-valuation, on Thursday said they would not hesitate to dig into the processes leading to the sale of the companies, Leadership reported.
