The immediate past governor of Adamawa state, Bala Ngillari, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
He was arrested for his alleged role in the distribution of N450 million for the re-election of former president Goodluck Jonathan.
This comes following an admission to the EFCC by a former Nigerian ambassador to the US, Hassan Adamu, which indicted the former governor.
Hassan Adamu, had told the EFCC that the chairman of PDP in Adamawa state, Joel Madaki, and himself took custody of the money from Fidelity Bank.
He further disclosed that the money was then was taken to the Adamawa state government house in bullion vans by officials of the bank.
Adamu told the agency that did not know how the money was shared, and did not personally benefit from it because he left after the government officials took custody of the fund.
