2023: Transform Nigeria as you did Lagos – Niger governor urges Tinubu

3 Min Read

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello has urged 2023 presidential aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to transform Nigeria, when he gets elected, the same way he laid the foundation for the transformation of Lagos State.

Bello stated this while endorsing Tinubu for the presidency.

Tinubu, who is National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lagos governor, was in Minna, Niger State on Thursday to visit the governor.

Speaking during the visit, Bello hailed Tinubu’s vision and will to turn around the fortunes of Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial nerve centre.

He urged the presidential aspirant to replicate the developmental strides in Nigeria.

“I am looking forward to seeing you lay the kind of foundation you laid for the massive transformation in Lagos for Nigeria.

“Lagos is a country within a country and we saw the foundation you laid there, we are looking forward to seeing you replicate it for Nigeria,” Bello said.

He equally hailed Tinubu for sympathising with the government and people of the state over incessant attacks by terrorists and for donating N50 million to help Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.

He noted that several efforts have been applied to address insecurity but the efforts are yet to produce the desired result.

“We can not continue to fight a conventional war, we have to implore the use of technology because conventional war will cause more casualties and loss of security operatives.

“All hope is not lost, but necessary steps must be taken”, he said.

On his part, Tinubu urged Nigerians to keep hope alive in spite of the challenges confronting the nation at the moment.

The former Lagos State Governor commended the efforts of security agencies in curbing the security challenges in the country assuring them that they are not alone in the fight and with determination, victory is sure.

“We are not hopeless, we will take the battle to them and, with prayers and strong determination, we will win the war”, he said.

He also spoke on the issue of cattle rustling saying, there is the need to come up with an improved program that will encourage animal husbandry.

“To address the issue of rustling, the government needs to put improved systems to encourage animal husbandry,”
the APC National Leader said.
