The Chairman, Caretaker Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mai Mala Buni, says there is no truth behind speculations of a Tinubu/Dogara presidential ticket in 2023.
He stated this in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service on Thursday.
National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has been linked with a presidential ambition in 2023, although he said he has yet to decide on it.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PDP, Sen. Walid Jibrin, earlier in the week linked former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara to a presidential or vice-presidential ticket.
He said Dogara quit the PDP because he figured he could not realise the ambition in the party.
Buni, who is the Governor of Yobe State, noted that the Tinubu/Dogara ticket remained a rumour that the party was not bothered about.
“You know you can’t stop people from talking. In fact, rumour strives in a democracy. That is not even our concern for now. Our concern is to further unite the party,” the caretaker chairman said.
