National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu says he will not turn down calls by Nigerians for him to vie for the presidency in 2023.
He said this Tuesday after a closed-door meeting with members of the Northern Alliance Committee in Abuja.
However, the former Lagos governor said he was still continuing with consultations with political stakeholders.
Responding to a question on whether he will accede to calls for him to run for the presidency, Tinubu said, “I am not going to turn them (Nigerians) down, but I will still effective and widely consult, particularly brainstorm with my friends and find a date to come out openly and tell Nigerians.”

Tinubu called on Nigerians to continue to back President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure he does not become distracted in his bid to tackle the nation’s numerous challenges.
“The president is still in office. I don’t want to distract him from all the challenges that he might face today. So, we will consult and make our programmes known to the people later and the intention is clear. So, you keep guessing,” Tinubu said.
