Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu should be president of Nigeria in 2023, indigenes of Alor, a community in Idemili South local government area of Anambra State have said.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige hails from the community.
The placard-bearing persons made their request known during a peaceful procession to the palace of the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe MacAnthony Elibe Okonkwo on Monday.
According to them, the former Governor of Abia State deserves to take over from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
The peaceful protesters, therefore, solicited the support of other Nigerians to make the dream a reality.
This was following Kalu’s visit to the community for the funeral ceremony of late Chief Mrs. Priscilla Mary Ejiakardo Amolue.

It was learnt that as part of his activities in the community, the senator was billed to pay a courtesy visit on the traditional ruler but suspended it after the Department of State Services (DSS) hinted him about the planned procession.
