The Southern Governors Forum says Nigeria’s president in 2023 must be a Southerner.
The governors stated this as part of their resolutions during a meeting held in Lagos on Monday.
Also, the governors warned security agencies against undertaking any operation in any Southern state without taking permission from the governor, who is the Chief Security Officer of the state.
Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who is the Chairman of the forum, read the communique containing the resolutions from the meeting.
However, he did not comment on the recent re-arrest of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu nor the attack by the Department of State Services (DSS) on the Ibadan, Oyo State home of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho.
