Presidential candidate of Action Alliance (AA), Major Hamza Al-Mustapha (rtd) has promised to include his fellow contestant, Omoyele Sowore, in his government if voted into office in 2023.
Al-Mustapha, who was Chief Security Officer (CSO) to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha, spoke in reaction to an altercation that ensued between him and Sowore over his role in the past government that many Nigerians termed repressive.
Recall that the duo clashed during the signing of the peace accord in Abuja on Thursday.
The retired army officer said he bore no ill feelings towards Sowore, adding that the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC) would be given an opportunity to serve in his (Al-Mustapha’s) government when he emerges.
Calling Sowore his “younger brother”, Al-Mustapha said, “he bared his mind over his grudges over the past government and his expectations of me while we were in government that I didn’t do, so that was right.
“He has every right to say so. I have respect for him, he is a young man and full of energy….if tomorrow he becomes the president definitely he would have my support and if on the other hand God Almighty grants us the permission to be, Sowore would come on board in rendering service to Nigeria…”
Al-Mustapha explained that if voted into office, insurgency, banditry and kidnapping currently ravaging the nation would end in six months.
He promised to abide by the letter and spirit of the peace officer
