John Maxwell

John Maxwell, influential world leadership expert’s global Beyond Success Leadership Roundtable has been inaugurated in Nigeria with plans to engage Nigerian politicians ahead of 2023 general elections.

EQUIP leadership movement, entitled: “Beyond Success” was inaugurated on Sunday night at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos.

It is a leadership movement initiated by Maxwell, a resident of U.S, an author, coach and speaker, who won the Business Insider and Inc. Magazine most influential leadership expert in 2014.

Unveiling the Beyond Success movement, Regional Director of EQUIP for Africa, Mr Eric Nyuma who oversees the Beyond Success movement in the continent, said that it was gradually transforming the leadership story of Africa.

Nyuma said Maxwell began the Beyond Success leadership journey 25 years ago, and it had transformed into a movement that would change the world onto a better place.

“Beyond Success is tailored toward growth. The vision is to change our world by engaging the mindset of people to be more driven by values and it is targeted at all.

” Beyond Success is not a leadership position and not restricted to political office holders, rather it is targeted at all. It is an all-inclusive programme that will involve all Nigerians and create an opportunity for everyone to speak up.

“The idea is to listen to people and add value to them.”

Also speaking, Mr Gbenga Samuel, Country Director of Beyond Success in Nigeria, said the movement would be taken to all parts of Nigeria.

He said that Nigeria being the hub of Africa, remained central to the movement, hence the plan to also engage all strata of the Nigerian society, including governments, schools and religious bodies among others.

“We are already in Abuja, Lagos and Rivers. This is just a formal inauguration. We intend to train over 5000 facilitators that will in turn, help the movement to expand in Nigeria,” he said.

Mr Patrick Uduma, a Nigerian facilitator and member, Africa Influencers of EQUIP, said the movement would use systemic approach to encourage values and attitudinal change among Nigerians.

“Africa is laid back in thoughts and attitude. Our target is to remodel leadership and change Africans/Nigerians from intellectualism to action.

” We are talking about intangible value. The idea is to listen to people and add value to them.

“We want Nigeria to achieve its full potentials through shaping the people’s mindset and leadership culture.’

NAN reports that the event was attended by EQUIP facilitators from across Nigeria. (NAN)
