Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has warned his supporters against insulting National Leader of All Progressives (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as jostling for the 2023 presidential ticket of the party gets more intense.
While Osinbajo has not declared a presidential ambition, Tinubu has publicly declared his intention to vie for the nation’s highest office.
However, the VP is believed to also be interested in contesting to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
Osinbajo served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State when Tinubu was governor.

Many supporters of Tinubu have faulted Osinbajo’s failure to publicly declare his support for his former boss’s presidential ambition, describing him as an ingrate.
Sources close to the VP said he is against insulting Tinubu and warned his supporters against doing so.
“Even if his supporters abuse my mother, don’t retaliate. On no account must he be insulted or denigrated,” Osinbajo reportedly said.
Osinbajo is said to enjoy massive support from northern emirs who praised him for showing uncommon loyalty to President Muhammadu Buhari.
Four Northern governors are also said to be solidly behind the VP.
