The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has said that the conferment of a national honour on his running mate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa proved he made the right choice.
He said this in a Facebook post on Tuesday, shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari conferred the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) national honour on Okowa at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The Herald can report that President Buhari conferred national honours on 450 Nigerians and non-Nigerians, who have distinguished themselves in the service of the nation and humanity, saying that citizens who contribute to national development deserve to be encouraged and appreciated.
Speaking on the conferment on Okowa, Atiku wrote, “Today’s conferment of the National Honour on Governor Ifeanyi A. Okowa by President Muhammadu Buhari is a testimonial that I made the right decision in tapping an achiever as my Vice Presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
“On behalf of my family, our team and our supporters, I say congratulations!”
