2023: APC, PDP must present Southern presidential candidates or… – Ezeife

Ezeife

Any attempt by the north to hold on to power beyond 2023 could lead to the nation’s disintegration, a former Governor of old Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, has said.

He called on the two major political parties – the APC and PDP – to choose their presidential candidates from the Southern part of the country in 2023.

The elder statesman said this was important to protect the nation’s unity.

“We expect APC and PDP to present a south-east person for president.

“What people say far away from the event is different from what they will say realistically when the event is near.

“I have heard about northern interest in this. The north likes Nigeria to survive because if they want to go again, it means they want to break the country completely.

“If they come out seriously, unfortunately, they will break the country immediately,” he told Sahara Reporters.

Recall that Ezeife was one of 16 Southern and Middle Belt leaders that slammed a N50 billion lawsuit against the Buhari administration over alleged marginalisation of the South.

He expressed hope that the ongoing APC crisis would not negatively impact the 2023 presidency.
