Popular musician Zaaki Azzay has said that the Federal Government is not doing enough to halt incessant killings of hapless Nigerians by killer herdsmen and other criminal elements.
The Benue State indigene said this in an interview with New Telegraph published on Thursday.
He said, “I must say that words cannot express how sad I feel. I was born and brought up in Kaduna State and I remember how peaceful Kaduna used to be before it was turned upside-down. The same way they are trying to to with Benue State now; Plateau State was one of the most peaceful states in the North, but today, it is not like that again. It is like a trend.
“Kaduna State has been destroyed because the Kaduna State of today is not the Kaduna we used to know. Plateau State today is not the Plateau State we used to know; it has been destroyed. Now it is Benue State. So, it is like a deliberate thing that is going on.”
Last year, he told The Sun: “Nigeria is facing a lot in this recession period. People are suffering because Nigeria is injured and in a very serious danger, and before the injury can be healed, it would have to go through some processes. In this country, I think we need someone that is tougher than Buhari. Buhari is working, yes it’s very evident but people are still not feeling the work, because a lot had been damaged. I knew when the (Abuja) airport was shut down and it came up better than before, so all that is going on is a process of correction, and by the grace of God, it will get better someday.
I am not a politician but at least we can see all the money and government property being recovered. Our entertainment industry will suffer because Buhari is not someone that likes entertainment and that worried me when he became the president. But truth be told,
Nigeria needs to be changed.”
