The Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Mr Olusegun Adewumi, said that President Jonathan’s conduct during the 2015 elections saved the country from chaos and that President Buhari and Atiku should emulate him.
With the elections only a month away, the media has been awash with allegations and counter-allegations between Buhari and Atiku and it is a real worry as to whether there would be peace during the volatile election period.
In a statement released by his media aide, Mr Charles Akinola, Adewumi praised Jonathan’s carriage during a difficult election period.
He also added that he knows the elections would be a time of upheaval for the nation and that the polls will be a pivotal one in Nigeria’s history. Therefore, he urged that people should avoid acts that could undermine the process and he spoke against hate speech and so on.
