As a result of the protests by PDP and APC campaign organizations over the ban of campaigning activities even after elections have been postponed, INEC officials are set to meet to deliberate on either upholding the ban or allowing the protesting parties to carry on with their campaign activities. The Chief Press Secretary to INEC’s national Chairman, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, made this known to the public since APC and PDP reps continue to state that the ban does not align with the provisions of the constitution.
The Peoples Democratic Party have also stated that they have new proofs which show that APC, through the presidency as well as its National Chairman, and INEC has connived to strategically tamper with the smooth flow of the general elections.
Although, the spokesperson for APC’s presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, has expressed his dissatisfaction about the ban, and described the order as being illegal.
