Two artisans who allegedly stole an exhibit from a police station on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged Sakiru Omoade,23, and Joshua David,20, with two counts of conspiracy and theft.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecution counsel, ASP Rachael Williams,told the court that the defendants committed the offence on June 8 at 4 p.m. at the Area ‘G’ Police Command Headquarter, Ogba, Lagos.

Williams said that the defendants stole the front tyre of a tricycle with registration number FKJ938QF, an exhibit at the police station.
Williams said that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015 stipulates three years jail term for stealing, while Section 411 provides two years for conspiracy.
Magistrate M.O. Dawodu admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N100,000 each with two sureties in like sum.
Dawodu ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed with evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government
He adjourned the case untill July 5 for mention. (NAN)
